At Wellshire, our love of Cardigans began in 1996.  Both Eric and I grew up with dogs in our lives and decided it was time to add one to our family. Once we decided that a Cardigan Corgi was what we wanted, we began searching for the right one.By sheer luck we found April. A Seattle area breeder was downsizing her kennel and had kept April as a show prospect from her last litter. We were not necessarily looking for a show dog but we fell in love with her when we met her. By chance, she had a great pedigree. If we had planned it, we could not have been more fortunate to find such famous old blood lines. April’s son Lucky was our first bred-by-champion and is the foundation dog to our current Cardigans.
